Experience
Mr. Ansar is a Partner and founder of The Ansar Law Firm, a cross-border law firm with offices in New York.
Mr. Ansar is a specialist in energy and renewable energy, infrastructure and international project finance, cross-border mergers and acquisitions including private equity, privatizations and restructurings, corporate finance and complex financings. He also has extensive experience in Islamic and structured finance.
Mr. Ansar’s experience is diverse and has included representation of clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Singapore and several countries in the Middle East including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Ansar has worked across the length and breadth of Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia, in various developed and developing countries, including several emerging and frontier markets. See Multi-jurisdictional Experience and related illustrative experience maps.
Mr. Ansar has held senior level or partner positions at two of the largest and most successful U.S. global law firms.
Mr. Ansar has spent extensive time on the ground in Karachi, New York, London, New Delhi and Mumbai, Doha, and Riyadh in the course of his practice.
At his former firms, Mr. Ansar has been involved in the representation of the following global and other investment banking firms: Bear Stearns, Citigroup, The First Boston Corporation, Goldman Sachs, International Finance Corporation (IFC), JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Nomura, Robert Fleming, and Tucker Anthony & R.L. Day. Mr. Ansar has also worked extensively with Credit Suisse First Boston in connection with the issuance of several offerings of debt and equity by an issuer.
